Morgan to Burra

Interesting drive from Morgan to Burra, still mainly Grazing Merino sheep, with large holdings, you can see there was a lot of hope here, that has been lost with some old abandoned dwellings, doesn't rain much here, but must have at some stage, as quite substantial houses built by people that hoped they would be here permanently, hopes dashed by lack of rain maybe?

The merinos are still here but they don't seem as numerous as 30 years ago when I first came through here.

Burra Memorial hall worth a visit, some great history of the region, and the wool industry.

The Burra Copper Mine is a great insight into early mining, and the town has some beautiful old buildings that would have cost a flot of money to build in there day.

A story oft repeated in Australia, boom and bust as it ran out.

We had a great day out, but probably need to keep the Girls off the Chardonnay till later in the Day!
