Daly Waters

Continued to Daly Waters Pub to stay the night.

We arrived about 1pm, and the caravan park behind the pub was already filling up, we got one of the last powered sites.

Basically up to 100 caravans gather in the paddock behind the pub every night.

Pretty basic establishment, with no money spent on it much over the last 50 years, would have to be the best return on capital I have ever seen!

Up to 100 Caravans at, $30, plus a meal and a few beers out of everyone, nice little earner.

The meal and beer was good, but the lack of expenditure on the inadequate septic system seemed to cloud the dining experience somewhat!!

The Daly Waters Pub is for sale, so if your looking to buy a bush pub, here's your chance!

   Car Park

Around the top end, there is a vast network of WW2 airfields, most still usable.
Its incredable how well they were built, and how quickly, it amazing what people achieve in Wartime.

Daly Waters has one just out of town, dropped in and had a look, some interesting history, one claim to fame was a diversion to the airfield by a Qantas Supersconstellation Airliner in 1953.

The car in front of us had a group of European tourists that claimed they saw a snake near this wreckage on the airfield, Butcho decided he would put his snake chasing boots on, and go for a look, I decided to stay behind and take the photo!
